Boumont
Boumont
Conceived as a nomadic urban inquiry into post-industrial landscapes and speculative futures, Boumont (2006) presents a world shaped by unsustainable resource consumption, technological decay, and ecological breakdown. Shot in and around the outskirts of Istanbul, the video constructs an eerie, non-linear narrative set in an uncertain temporal landscape.
The sole protagonist navigates an environment stripped of familiar temporal anchors, relying on surviving photographic fragments to orient himself within a fractured reality. Blending observational footage with science-fiction tropes, Boumont explores themes of isolation, depoliticization, and the instinct for survival amidst ruined modern utopian ideals.
