“ Boumont ” was born out of the desire to describe, if not the present world, a plausible world which keeps consuming its resources with no return and destroying itself because of excessive technological progress. Ecological problems, depoliticization, poverty, risk society and eventually the relation of the postmodern human to nature constitute the issues that lie at the core of this work.
The scenes that have been shot in varying places abstract the architectural elements out from the environment in which they exist in an attempt to render outline the probable consequences of the world mentioned above within one place. In a social system reaching its peak of decadence, the survival impetus becomes the sole concern while the search for food, loneliness, and the need for protection become basic daily functions. In fact when perceived in this light, the narration of the film carries out a structure that reflects the lead character’s situation in a place where there is no concept of time rather than following a linear flow of acts.
